Highlights of the season include Kev winning one of the first sled races in this country for more than 15 years at Sherwood Forest with Pye, Brew, Zala and Raven, Mel storming to 4 x 1sts and one 2nd place in the BSHRA 3-dog competition with Pye and Brew joined by either Raven or Daisy and Kev fending off some top competition to win the 6 dog class on a highly technical trail at Pembrey Open Race with a team made up of Pye, Brew, Zala, Raven, Chena and Daisy. Full results can be found here. The "serious" business of racing is now over until November but these hard working huskies won't be hanging up their harnesses as the spring and early summer still hold plenty of training runs as well as shorter fun runs to blow away the cobwebs as the weather warms up. The dogs love to run and are never happier than when they are being hooked onto the training rig early in the morning or on a cool evening, whatever the month. For information on sled dog racing and working huskies in the UK, please have a look at some of the homepages of the organisations listed on my links page. Happy Trails !
Race Season 2009/2010 has been the most successful yet for Charoite Siberians and their team-mates at Kev's Mystic Energy Kennel with a phenomenal 17 top 3 placings at races from November until March. We have had so much fun running these amazing dogs and have swapped teams around which has meant the dogs have won races in 6, 4 and 3 dog classes as well as Delta storming home to win a one dog class too ! Pyewacket and Brew, the two lovely boys I kept from Beany's 2008 litter (Aceca's Witchy Woman of Charoite x Kefeus Tigalda Tsilga at Azgard) have been on every winning team, leading most of them !
We are also very pleased to say Beany's other pups Slash and Calvin are doing their owners Ian and Lesley Robinson and Emma Gration and Henrik Mau proud in harness .
