CHAROITE SIBERIANS

Bred by Bruce and Lynn Hall, Tiger is Beany's younger half sister from the gorgeous Robin (Aceca's Strange Brew), one of my favourite Siberians. Her mum is Aceca's Thumbelina who was born in Wales but very much "made in Finland" (Hopevuoren and Polarspeed lines) as her mum Fox was imported in whelp.

Tiger is an incredibly affectionate little dog who likes to be as close to you as caninely possible. If we have visitors she can usually be found curled up on someone's lap.

Compact in stature but packed with drive and guts, she's a great little sled dog who will run anywhere on the team including single lead. She is, however, affected by hormones and her performance drops off noticeably if she thinks she should be having puppies.

A prodigious digger, Tiger is responsible for the most ambitious excavations in my garden. She will also randomly destroy small things - memorably all my plastic cards and driving licence - if left downstairs uncrated - this is her way of saying that she should accompany you to the shower, loo, bed... Tiger is extremely vocal and will shout at you if she's hungry, bored or if she just thinks she's been quiet for too long. She has a few nicknames and only some of them are repeatable.

As a youngster, Tiger didn't really enjoy showing and the noise of the PA system used to panic her. Her movement was more of a contained bolt than a fluid trot and she would stand with her tail firmly between her legs. Because she was clearly hating the whole thing I took her out of the ring for a while. Somewhere along the line she decided the chance to meet lots of people who would fuss her far outweighed her nervousness and now she loves to enter the occasional show. Her only flaw is the habit of throwing herself on her back at the judge's feet expecting her tummy to be rubbed. She has done this at the start line of races too ! Obviously the socialisation worked !
